Check what you may carry in
Some temples do not allow leather, phones, umbrellas or electronic gadgets inside. Look for the notice before you go in.
Rules differ from temple to temple. One much-visited temple in Vrindavan, for example, asks visitors not to bring in footwear, leather items, an umbrella, a mobile phone or other electronic devices. Find out what applies before you queue, and leave what you cannot carry in a safe place.
