Sit with respect
Do not sit with your legs spread out, hold your knees, or lie down in front of the Deity.
In front of the Deity, sit as you would in front of an elder you honor: upright, legs folded, hands still. The Nectar of Devotion warns against sitting with the legs spread, sitting while holding the ankles, elbows or knees, and lying down before the Deity. These rules are about attitude. If sitting on the floor is hard for you, sit at the side and keep the same respect.
