Leave your shoes outside
Take off your shoes and sandals before you step onto the temple floor.
Footwear carries the street with it, so leave it outside. The Hindu Temple of Atlanta says socks may be worn inside. The Nectar of Devotion lists entering the temple in shoes, or riding into it, among the offenses to avoid.
