Dress modestly
Cover your shoulders and knees, and wear something loose enough to sit in comfortably. Traditional Indian dress is not required.
Modest clothes keep the mind on the Lord and off appearances. Choose loose clothing that covers the shoulders and the knees and lets you sit cross-legged for a while. You do not need Indian clothes to be welcome, and the Hindu Temple of Atlanta says so plainly. Some temples ask for more, such as covered upper arms and midriff, so read the notice at the door.
